The screw with a perfect disguise

Whether they manufacture seat structures, dashboards and instrument panels, chassis components or engine parts, a large number of automobile suppliers rely on our global expertise in procurement and experience in supply chain management. Our in-depth knowledge of various manufacturing processes is also called upon time and time again. We are able to identify the optimal production process for each customer’s application, be it for a prototype, short run or large-scale production.

A car manufacturer came to us with an exciting challenge. The customer explained that every time repair work was carried out on the rear end of a car, the trunk lining cover was damaged. The lining is attached inside the car with clips that rip out whenever an attempt is made to detach them properly. How can this high level of waste be avoided?

For our customer, the solution had to be fit for purpose, but it was also important for it to be in keeping with the design of the car. The fixture should be as discreet as possible and allow easy removal in case repair work was necessary. Our customer imagined a screw that could be concealed with a cap matching the trunk lining.
